Cats have always been a part of my story. Long before I became a feline professional, content creator, author, or blogger, I was simply a little girl growing up in a family that loved cats deeply. Their presence was woven into our everyday lives, and that love shaped the person I would eventually become.

My mother, an author herself, was my very first teacher, not only when it came to understanding cats, but also in appreciating creativity, compassion, and the power of storytelling. She taught me to observe the world closely, to value connection, and to recognize that every cat has a personality, a voice, and a story worth understanding.

What I never expected was that one cat of my own would completely change the trajectory of my life.

As a devoted cat mom, I found myself searching for answers, trying to better understand feline behavior and communication on a deeper level. That curiosity slowly evolved into passion, and that passion eventually became purpose. What started as a personal journey to help and understand my own cat unexpectedly opened the door to a career dedicated to feline education, advocacy, and creative storytelling.

Today, I am Dee A. K., a feline professional, content creator, and one of the few certified African Diaspora Animal Trainers. I am committed to creating species-appropriate feline content that both educates and inspires. Over the past 16 years as a cat mom, 13 years volunteering within animal welfare, and 8 years working professionally in the feline field, my journey has continued to grow in ways I never imagined.

From consulting and podcasting to blogging and writing, every piece of content I create is rooted in authenticity, empathy, and connection. My goal has always been bigger than simply talking about cats. My desire is for people to truly understand them. My desire is for cat parents to feel seen, supported, and empowered in their relationships with their feline companions.

For me, creativity and feline education go hand in hand. Whether through storytelling, educational content, or advocacy, I strive to bridge the gap between humans and cats in a way that feels personal, relatable, and heartfelt.

Because sometimes, all it takes is one cat to completely transform your life and inspire the work you were always meant to do.
